I loved Hegemony Gold: Wars of Ancient Greece. It brought a new element to strategy games that big budget titles ignored. Namely, supply lines and attrition. It also had a cool map that showed you symbols and map markings when you zoomed out... like how Supreme Commander did. In Hegemony, wars take a different dynamic.
Plan your conquest, build your supply lines, make sure your troops are well-fed and destroy the enemies supplies, starve them! This new video from Longbow Games gives as a good 30 minute look at the upcoming Hegemony Rome: The Rise of Caesar. The game is now available as an early access game for USD$24.99 (buyer beware it is in beta and unfinished, no release date has been announced but I'd say it might be out in a couple of months time). As a fan of the first game (you can read my review of Hegemony Gold here), I definitely have my eye on this one. Check out the video below
